Richard Johnson
Richard Johnson is a painter who specialises in landscapes. He creates paintings of remote and wild places, particularly focusing on the Peak District National Park. Richard works outdoors, making sketches and gathering reference material. However, most of his paintings are created back in his studio in Sheffield city centre, using a combination of memory and imagination. His aim is not just to capture what a place looks like, but also how it feels to be there. Richard’s work is widely exhibited and collected, and it has been acquired by public collections such as Sheffield Museums Trust, Nottingham Trent University Art Collection, and the National Coal Mining Museum.
