Laura Plant
Making in her hometown of Stoke-on-Trent, Laura draws from the creative heritage and ambition of the pioneering potters who made the city famous. Thrown in porcelain, each piece is a unique ‘sketch’ in clay, carefully turned and refined to reveal the precise form. Sculptural handles add a sense of drama as Laura pushes the possibilities of the clay. Working with stained and partially glazed porcelain, the beauty of the clays surface is showcased, contrasting the sense of movement captured in the poured glaze. Laura is a graduate of Camberwell ceramics, and MA Ceramic Design from Staffordshire University in 2018.
