Karen Sherwood
Karen Sherwood, an artist, holds a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Sheffield Hallam University. She primarily works in oils on paper, card, board, and canvas. Her work is process-led, evolving from expressive, almost random marks and colours into predominantly seascapes currently, which evoke 'real' places for viewers. This inclination towards seascapes might seem peculiar considering she resides and operates in the landlocked city of Sheffield. Sherwood is known for her use of blue, although other colours are beginning to emerge in her work. Her pieces are multi-layered, as she revisits them numerous times until they 'feel right.' Often, her paintings serve as a sublimated response to her emotions about 'the world.'
