Cathy uses the traditional techniques of chasing and repoussé in a contemporary and unique way. Her organic and tactile designs come to life using a chasing hammer and a variety of steel punches. In her Whirlpool collections, she has focused on surface design, using line and curve tools to cover the silver and gold with intricate swirling patterns, inspired by the flowing movement and energy of water. Designs evolve during the making process and every line and mark has been hammered in, creating deep forms, lovely textures, and making each piece totally unique.
